Open

For this assignment I chose to do open. I had seen pictures on other photography websites and it inspired me. I tried to capture the moment of the orange hitting the water. Among a few of my favorites were the one where it is just about to hit the water and the one where the water is about to hit Tyler. The best shot really stood out to me and I really enjoyed shooting this. All together it took me about 4 hours from start to finish, but it was very fun. The difficulty was very high and it took me a long time to figure out how to shoot continuously but in macro. Also it was challenging to figure out the correct ISO, aperture and shutter speed. Enjoy!

Event

This past weekend I went down to Toledo with Tyler and my parents. It was my Aunt Karen's birthday. We always go to a Mexican restaurant called Loma Linda's. We went there for her birthday dinner and at the restaurant they bring you out a sombrero and ice cream and everyone sings to you. I took advantage of this and took pictures while we all sang. The following day we went to Oak Openings metro park where I took more pictures of where we were. There was also hockey players playing pond hockey. At oak openings they have sand dunes and they are known as the only sand dunes that aren't by water.

panoramic

For this weeks gimp assignment we learned how to make a panoramic picture without using the camera setting on our camera. I really disliked this assignment because it was super frustrating
but I got it done.

Nature

For this assignment I did a nature shoot. Earlier this trimester I took a trip to Florida to visit my Grandpa. While there me and my Dad went to Cape Canaveral and took pictures. On the beach we saw fisherman and a lot of birds would keep flying over head of us. One fisherman in particular that i had been watching really caught my eye. In one of my photos I set him up in a compositional way with the birds in a line and what not.

For this gimp assignment we used new editing and lighting techniques. In the picture in the left I practiced using window lighting with a piece of poster board. In the picture on the right I used the studio lighting that Mr. Bush set-up for us called the sandwich technique.
